A US federal appeals court has ruled against a Chinese company that was accused of running an illegal seo website.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit in San Francisco rejected a lawsuit filed by the Chinese company, Tencent Holdings Inc., alleging the company’s practices violated the federal Wiretap Act, according to court records.
The company’s chief executive officer and a senior vice president of China were charged with wire fraud.
The other two executives were charged in the case.
A ruling against the company is expected later this month.
In October, the 4U.
S., 3C and 2A circuits sided with the Chinese government, finding that Chinese authorities have broad authority to monitor the online activities of companies based in China.
